8 Winter Beauty Tips For Your Skin, Hair And Lips
Winter It’s here! This time of year is my favorite, because there’s a slight breeze. If you don’t take care of your skin properly, the season can cause dry, flaky skin and chapped lip. Young brides who are getting married soon will need to be aware of this. These are some tips to keep your skin glowing and hydrated throughout the season. Dry skin is more susceptible to infection than oily skin. If you have dry skin, these tips will be more helpful. The following tips are applicable to all skin types.
1. Watch Your Diet
External treatments can affect the texture of your skin, but so does food. Proper nutrition is essential for the regeneration of the skin. All people should drink at least 3-4 litres of water daily. This will help you retain the moisture in your skin and keep skin conditions at bay. Your body gets a lot more water from fruits and vegetables. Your diet may include olive oils and primrose syrup/capsules. These products can soften the skin.
2. Moisturize Daily
Cool winds and cold weather can worsen dry skin conditions. Winters call for cold creams and moisturisers. To preserve and replenish your skin’s moisture, tone and moisturize after every cleansing. Every evening, use a moisturizing night cream. After consulting a dermatologist, apply a moisturiser to your eyes and dry areas every morning. If you are a believer in natural skincare, you can use the paste of ground greengram powder as a soap. It can be mixed with raw or curd milk.
3. Oil Therapy
To soothe chaps and dry skin, use a little coconut oils before you take a soak. Creamy soaps will give your skin extra suppleness. After washing your face or bathing, wait 30 minutes before venturing out into the cold air. Cool water should be used to wash your face after you return inside. Extreme temperature changes can cause capillaries to burst near the skin’s surface. To your bath water, add a few drops oil. This will retain any moisture that is lost during bathing. It is recommended to do a warm oil self-massage (called abhyanga) before you go for your bath. Avoid very hot water in winter, as it can reduce the natural oils on your skin. Reduce the time you spend in the tub.
4. Flaxseeds include Almonds and Ghee
Flaxseed oil is a great moisturizer, even though it tastes a bit bland. Flaxseed oil is high in essential fatty acids and can help improve your overall health. It can be purchased in both oil and capsule forms. Include soaked almonds, blanched walnuts, whole milk and fresh cheese in your diet to give your skin lipid support. This will make a huge difference for your skin.
Amla (Indian Gooseberry) contains the highest amount of vitamin C. It provides deep nourishment for the skin’s deeper layers. It is recommended to be taken on a daily basis to replenish your skin’s natural nutrients.
6. Lip Care
Do not lick your lips or bite the skin. If you chew on your skin, it will not heal. You will see darker lips and thickening skin. It is hard to break this habit, but it is worth the effort.
7. Lip Balm
Use a good lip balm several times a day to keep your lips moisturized. Many lip balms now come with an SPF factor. You should ensure that the lip balm has SPF 15 and 20. Vitamin E and shea butter are also ingredients you should be looking out for when buying a Chapstick or lip balm.
8. Hair Care
You should not take your hair outside if it is still damp. This could lead to breakage. Use hair dryers and curling irons sparingly. Use conditioner even if you use these tools.
